Pete Kennedy Releases His Debut Music Video for “I Am The One”
|
|
(NASHVILLE, TN) Irish singer-songwriter Pete Kennedy takes to the streets trading cryptocurrency and bars of Nashville’s Lower Broadway in the new music video for his hit single, “I Am The One”. The song comes from Pete’s award-winning album, The Nashville Sessions Volume 1, and the video can be found online here.
The video, directed by Kevin Scott Page, features Kennedy playing at the Whiskey Bent Saloon and walking along Nashville’s legendary Broadway Avenue. Celebrity fashion line, Corello (Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Ne-Yo) styled Pete for the shoot with a one-of-a-kind eel skin cuff and fitted logo tee. Pete also contributed footage from his small hometown Ripple in Ireland, where the inspiration for “I Am The One” originated. “My father passed tragically when I was a young boy,” said Pete. “This song is my way of encompassing what I would say to my father if he was here now.”
Pete Kennedy is currently on a 3-month tour of the UK, playing 10 shows with the great pop singer/pianist/composer Neil Sedaka, and then switching gears as he opens for Philadelphia soul group, The Stylistics throughout November and December. He is excited to share a stage with these legendary acts as he brings his music to new audiences around the world.
Pete Kennedy is the walking, talking, singing embodiment of how the world sees the people of Ireland—repeatedly bouncing back from tragedy and finding Stellar inspiration in music. After a lifetime of working solely to support his family, Pete was finally able to pursue his love of music in 2008. Forging his path by playing local pubs in Germany and the UK, Pete began to make a name for himself in the world of country music. His entrepreneurial style resulted in the formation of his own label, KEMC Records and his first EP. From there, he caught the eye of CMR Nashville’s Lee Williams, who brought Pete to Nashville to play his first show at Cadillac Ranch as a representative of Ireland for the International Artist Showcase prior to the 2011 CMA Awards. He has since released his first album,The Nashville Sessions Volume 1, which has received critical acclaim and was named UK Album of the Year at the 2012 British Country Music Awards. |

Anthony Bygraves Review
Pete Kennedy at the BIC 20/10/2012....
It was great to meet up again with my good friend Lee Williams , at the BIC, who had arranged a ticket for me to see the Legendary Neil Sedaka, what a treat. It was a great night and I was particularly impressed by the support act Pete Kennedy , who is fast making a big name for himself both here and in the U.S. where he spends much of his time, writing and recording. I have had to open a couple of concerts to large audiences in large halls in my time and it can be very daunting , especially when you are not the main attraction.
Measuring in at 6' 5' in his Nashville , Tennessee Country boots and armed only with his trusted guitar, he delivered a balanced selection of his own original material in a truly seasoned and accomplished way , giving a performance worthy of the Gran old Opry itself. He was modest and in his softly spoken and charming Irish way he respectfully tipped his hat to Mr Sedaka and also to the audience of 3000, for allowing him into their hearts and minds for his own contribution. The audience responded warmly to him and his obvious talent.
I have heard that Pete was Neil Sedaka's personal choice as a support act. It is no wonder. I had the chance to meet Pete after the show where he was surrounded by new won fans and was busy signing copies of his latest album. He seems a warm and sincere guy. I had the feeling that I was watching the start of his very successful and long career in music. I truly hope so.

Irish Singer/Songwriter Pete Kennedy Set to Open for Neil Sedaka and The Stylistics
Ireland’s own Pete Kennedy is packing his bags and traveling to the UK for a 3-month international tour. Pete will be joining the Neil Sedaka tour for nine shows in October and then will be jumping on tour with Philadelphia soul group, The Stylistics, on their UK tour for 18 dates throughout November and early December.
Wrapping up production for his music video, “I Am The One” in Nashville, TN last month, Pete is looking forward to a busy autumn with back-to-back UK tours. “It’ll be nice to be busy again,” said Kennedy. “We had a busy May and June in Nashville – first writing the songs with some of Nashville’s hit songwriters, then recording The Nashville Sessions Volume 2 and performing at a large portion of CMA Fest.”
Has there been any downtime? “Not really,” laughs Pete. “Just enough time to catch my breath and rehearse for the upcoming tours. Both of these acts—Neil Sedaka, and The Stylistics are legendary. We’ll have a lot to live up to and make audiences happy.”
Sedaka, pop singer/pianist/composer, whose career has spanned nearly 55 years, had had hits including “Laughter In The Rain” and “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do.” Pete will open all 10 dates in the UK, from 6th October through 24th October.
The Stylistics was one of the best-known Philadelphia soul groups of the seventies, and they continue to please audiences with hits like “You Make Me Feel Brand New” and “Stop, Look, Listen (To My Heart).” Pete will open all 18 dates in the UK from 1st November through 2nd December, including 21st November at The IndigO2 in London.
“We’ve had some great success over the past year, but it’s nothing compared to being able to support these legendary artists,” said Pete. “I’m going to learn a lot!”

Ireland’s Pete Kennedy Wraps Up Two Weeks of Songwriting in Nashville
Pete Kennedy, who has been enjoying chart success both in the UK and his native Ireland, has just wrapped up an intense two-weeks in Nashville co-writing with some of the city’s top songwriters.
Pete jetted back to Ireland this past Sunday to sit down with his manager and determine which songs will complete his upcoming album. “At this point, choosing is going to be difficult,” says this international troubadour. “We came up with some great songs, and what an honour it’s been to meet these folks. I can’t wait to write with them again.”
During these busy 14 days in Music City, Pete has written with former American Idol contestant Ayla Brown, country music’s latest rockin’ phenomenon Corey Wagar, Canadian songstress Jessica Ridley as well as successful songwriters Beau Fuller (Jimmie Van Zant), Lynn Wilbanks, Cece DuBois, Jan Buckingham (Lee Greenwood), Bob McGilpin and Jo-Leah Wallace Tilbury. Jan commented, “Pete’s a modern-day Neil Diamond. With the melodies and stories of a troubadour master coupled with his good looks and Irish charm, Pete should be unstoppable!”
This global singer/songwriter has toured throughout Ireland, Germany and the UK, and will be returning to Nashville the end of this month to complete work on his current album. He’ll also be making appearances during the CMA Music Festival at the CMA’s Global Showcase, the Music & Fashion event at the Hard Rock Café and a performance inside the Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, June 7th.
Pete Kennedy’s debut EP, “The Nashville Sessions Volume 1,” currently sits at number-24 on AirPlay Direct’s Americana/Triple-A chart.
